LGBTQIA+ Romance Books & Authors to Read Year-Round
It’s officially Pride Month, but queer love deserves our attention all year long. Swooning over a second-chance sapphic romance or cheering for a chaotic bisexual disaster finding someone who just gets them isn’t something to save for just June! Inclusivity is one of the things that makes the romance genre wonderful, so here are some romance books written by LGBTQIA+ authors to add to your TBR.
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
I LOVE THIS BOOK SO FREAKING MUCH IT MAKES ME CRY HAPPY TEARS EVERY TIME.
Fighting by Jordana Blake
Jordana writes “traum-coms” that explore human stress response behavior (honestly, relatable), so her books tackle tough topics but do it with humor. The small-town setting means it’s a great book if you want something equally thought-provoking and comforting.
Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Alyssa Cole
I adore everything about this novella, from the cover to the second chance romance. This entire series is a fun take on the royalty trope.
A Thousand Sunsets by Kayla Martin
I’m a huge fan of vacation romances (obviously!), and an even bigger fan of tattooed lifeguards. This is a perfect summertime read imho.
Violet Veins by Paige A. Cook
Take an office romance between a witch and a vampire, add an unexpected plot twist, and you’ve got one magical romance. I’m always attracted to stories where a woman thinks she’s lost the love of her life…only to actually find her person (or vampire) in the book.
The Lady’s Guide to Celestial Mechanics by Olivia Waite
Such a good one! This is a slower-paced book but still delightful, and one of my favorite historical romances that I’ve ever read.
A Shift in Shadows by Maddox Grey
If you’re looking for something a bit more morally gray and with the delicious tension of enemies-to-lovers, then this start of the Lost Legacies series is for you. This book also has some astronomically high stakes, so you’ll be engrossed from page one.
You, Again by Kate Goldbeck
Two people who have “absolutely nothing in common…except that they happen to be sleeping with the same woman.” Sign me up!
Soft Launch by Olivia Carter
Soft Launch is a high-heat, emotionally grounded queer romance about burnout, vulnerability, and falling hard—on camera and off. Not only am I obsessed with this cover, but I love emotional romances like this that tackle real-world problems with such nuance.
Written in the Stars by Alexandra Bellefleur
A fun, trope-y time that transports you to Seattle. It’s got fake dating, which is always a fun one.
The Desert Heiress by Shoshana Rain
Romantasy girlies 🤝 why choose. The main character, Liseya, is on a mission to regain her family’s power, and she most certainly won’t let her rivals—three very tempting men—to get in her way.
D'Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding by Chencia C. Higgins
This one has outstanding representation and brims with queer joy!
