Book #2 Title & Release Date

It’s official. Book #2 is coming out May 7th, 2026. It is a standalone in a 3-book series, which The Half of It was book one. The next book in this series is called (drumroll please): In a Desert Daze.

With The Half of It, I spent days brainstorming a title. I’d already written the book, and I sat down and thought of hundreds of ideas before I finally found something that felt right. I assumed I’d have to do the same thing for this book. Lil ol’ me was in for a surprise to sit down one day while writing the first draft of “Desert Romance Book” and have this title come to mind. It was like getting struck by inspiration lightning. I immediately fell in love with this title, and while I’ve toyed with a couple other ideas along the way, this is the one that stuck.

On a practical level, it’s snappy and has some alliteration. But I always love when my book titles can have a deeper meaning—and In a Desert Daze has quite a lot. It is a direct reference to one of the main character’s names and a central event in the story—and the “in a daze” is a nod to the yearny, obsessed MMC who just can’t get the FMC out of his system.
