What I Read in May 2025
I am on a roll with my reading lately. I’ve been picking up books, and I’ve been loving them left and right! I read 6 books last month, and they’re all ones I’d recommend. Which ones will you add to your TBR?
You With a View by Jessica Joyce
You know I love a good travel romance, so this road trip story was one I had high hopes for. Enemies to lovers is always a fun trope, and I felt like I really understood why these two started out with some animosity but eventually warmed to each other. This is my second time reading a book by this author and really loving it!
Morning Glory Milking Farm by C.M. Nacosta
Baby’s first monster romance! This was a great foray into the subgenre. I can’t say I’m going to be voraciously reading monster smut, but it’s not at all because I didn’t enjoy this book—I just don’t think it’s the subgenre for me. That said, it was spicy and fun, and the world was a cozy place to be.
Off the Map by Trish Doller
An Irish setting in a romance book is the greenest flag for me. I went into this book not allowing myself to get my hopes up—I really liked Float Plan, and I knew going in that this book was an insta-lust situation. I couldn’t have enjoyed it more! The main character, Carla, was one I really empathized with, and I think this just goes to show that I will always pick up a Trish Doller book.
Pike Island by Tony Wirt
I wanted something a lil spooky, and this was perfect. It took me a little time to get into it—it hooked me, but I wasn’t totally sure if it was for me until I got about 25% in. By that point, every single chapter left me hooked, and I had to keep going. It was also under 300 pages, so the whole thing flew by. Also, there was a moment near the end that had me SHOOKETH.
Don’t Regret Me by Stephanie Louise
The perfect second chance romance, with some surprises along the way! Mandy, the FMC, is adorable, but it was Zack, the MMC, who had me reading with hearts in my eyes. He wants to be a better man for Mandy, and I loved seeing how good he was to her. The book hits just the right amount of external conflict, emotion, internal struggle, drama, and ultra-swoony moments. Basically, my favorite kind of book!
The Love We Found by Jill Santopolo
The prequel to this book, The Light We Lost, is an all-time favorite of mine. The Love We Found is an extension of Lucy’s story, ten years after the events in the first book. I liked it a lot! Lucy is such an interesting, flawed character, and despite her poor choices sometimes, I loved reading her journey. It was heartwarming, but make sure not to skip the first book with this one.
