Announcing My Next Release: A Steamy Romance Set in Sicily, Italy

I’ve been dropping hints here and there about the setting for my upcoming novella with you, and it’s officially time to pack your bags because we’re headed to Sicily, Italy!

When brainstorming locations I want to write about, it was only a matter of time until I chose Italy as a setting—and Sicily seemed like just the right spot for this particular love story. I first fell in love with Sicily on my honeymoon—my husband and I spent a month traveling through Italy, down into Sicily, and ended up in Sardinia before heading home. It was my first time in Italy, and I knew it wouldn’t be my last. I went back to Italy many times for my work as a travel journalist, started taking Italian lessons, and I once had an absolutely incredible press trip to Sicily hosted by a local wine organization that was basically a dream trip.

As a travel girlie, I’ll admit that I fall in love with destinations all the time. I am that girl turning to my husband and saying, “I could live here.” But when it comes to what I want to write, I don’t just choose a place on a map at random. I like for the location to become part of the story.

Once I started dreaming up this particular romance, the only place I could imagine it taking place was in Sicily. I kept imagining that slower pace of life where people really seem to relish every moment, the family-run agriturismos, long dinners outside in the summertime, expansive olive groves, and sunshine that makes you wish the day will never end. I love that you can stand on a mountain and look over lush vineyards to the sparkling sea in the distance, in one day you can visit crumbling ruins and feel the warm dirt at Mt. Etna, and you don’t have to choose between charming cities or relaxing on a secluded beach. Sicily is a dream, and I’m looking forward to taking you there with this book!

I’ll be sharing more and more of this novella with you over the next few months, including mood boards, character introductions, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of the book. If you want all the updates, make sure you’re subscribed to my newsletter. For now, I just want to tell you where we’re headed and not spoil anything…but I can say that yes, this means we’re back in the #menwithaccents era.

Sicily, we’ll see you soon! 🇮🇹
